Burberry Does Leather

For years I have been searching for the perfect leather jacket, because nothing says cool like a woman wearing body hugging leather in chilly weather. Unfortunately, I'm not quite a girl who belongs in a black leather jacket, but none the less my desire for one has not waned. Just when I almost given up on the search for leather that doesn't make me look like I'm trying too hard, Burberry slapped me with one so perfect it almost brought me to tears.
Buttery leather that slides through your hands, cut and created into a badass, feminine jacked. The wide lapels, princess sleeves and skewed zipper makes this the leather jacket most of us can only dream of. The color is a light robin's egg blue(the picture doesn't do the color justice) that is more interesting than the normal black and browns, but still neutral enough to wear with every color you own.
Although pricey, a leather jacket like this is one you'll be wearing for the rest of your life and will still maintain it's shape and color no matter what you put it through. A true investment piece that you will wear with everything from jeans to skirts to cocktail attire. Isn't it time to get your hands on some leather?

Nothing says idiot like a person who ignores the facts.

Besides, anonymous #2, did you really buy the jacket? Or are you the kind of idiot "who passes up a gorgeous Burberry leather jacket"?

  4. Nothing says "I think I'm better than everyone else, all the time, yes even you" like posting your aggressive animals rights propaganda anonymously on a fashion blog.

Grow a pair and stop being so rude.

Besides, Burberry only uses human skin for its leather, so its fine.

  5. Facts or not, the choice to buy, wear, or support the production of leather goods is personal.

The truth is, people know the facts. Therefore, they aren't ignoring them. They are choosing not to let them affect their shopping decision. Ignorance and indifference are totally different things.

Calling someone an idiot for "ignoring the facts" is an immature way to support your cause. Aren't we a little old for name calling?

  6. mr/ms. PETA.
you should take your leather issues and go yell at a biker gang. the fashion industry is not interested in saving the hide of a probably already dead cow. clothes such as this are def more important.

fyi. a huge trend for f/w 10 is fur. from head to toe. 100% real. looks like your "huge" protest on this blog really made designers think twice.

aka. not at all. find your life.

  7. if you don't want to wear animal products then that is completely your choice, but you should not try to make other people feel guilty because they enjoy leather jackets, fur coats, and alligator handbags...oooohhhhh and steak!

  8. Kat, you made the choice to go to organic make-up to be more earth conscious... why is that only reserved for your face?

  10. you cant put a limit on being fabulous. I know that sounds horrible.. but honestly why are you people so upset over a leather jacket when half of the school buses and cars around the world all contain leather seats. Even sofas, people dont seem to make a big deal about that. And people eat cow and buffalo and all that, yeah they eat it, from the freaking testicles to eyes of the cow. And yall are making a big deal about this one leather jacket? Everyone is allowed there own opinion, personlly I dont eat meat but I dont find it wrong, its just life.

  11. whatever you believe about wearing dead cow, a lot of leather coming from china is made up of either dog and cat.

    food for thought.

  12. Yeah, last commenter-you're full of it. Are we being stereotypical and trying to say that because rumor has it they eat those animals you were just going to try to get in on the drama and say something ridiculous?

Even if you are right, maybe mass produced "leather" coming out of China is made from mystery meat but Burberry doesn't just get their materials from China, so I can trust this jacket to be 100% cow.

  13. Wowwww FashionForever15.

    Wow.

I'm full of it? No, ethnic stereotypes of Asians eating cat/dog are NOT why I made that statement. It is extremely true that many leather (and fur) products coming out of China (the world's leading exporter of leather) are made of cats and dogs. Each year, an estimated 2 million are skinned alive. These animals are given no tranquilizers. The lucky ones die from shock. The unlucky ones bleed to death.

Unfortunately, this is not a ridiculous statement. Don't accuse someone of making something up when you clearly know nothing about the subject.

Also, the "Made in _______" labels are misleading. They tell a consumer where a product was manufactured, not where the raw materials came from. With leather purchases, there is a very good chance the skins came from China, even if the tag says "Made in Italy." Maybe Burberry doesn't use materials from China. Maybe it does. Companies can be very misleading when it comes to issues like this.
